Wobblewire Main Project Milestones
The project development plan was focus on the core application of web enablement and the features necessary for the launch. Considering all the system functional requirements, details and project specifications, the project development was focused on the following:
1. Database Structure Design.
The database is one of the most critical components of an intelligent information management system. From one to another, it differs by some properties, which include efficiency, high speed of data processing, correctness of work, opportunity of expansion of the system information, reliable storage and safe access to database contents.
2. Archive/Dev Site.
The following main moments was considered:
- Copy live programs and data separately to dev and vice-versa (cron).
- Backup/restore live programs and data separately to dev and vice-versa (data privacy; system upgrade with the changed and tested backup files; backup/restore data to/from live site).
3. Message Forum.
Important moments was considered:
- Forum development.
- Localization/flags.
- Setting up a relationship between the members/characters tables and the forum tables, mail lists.
- Posts editing by authors and moderators (admin/master/leader).
- Dynamical links for getting in contact with the author (Email, PM).
- Flexible administration access scheme.
- Ability to tell who messages were sent to if the message received was sent to multiple recipients.
- Simple clear all messages ability.
- Adding more digits to hit counter on front page.
4. Calendar.
- Calendar.
- Validation.
- Fix time zone.
- Date highlight.
- Allow the owner of an event to change or delete it.
- Character posting.
5. News.
Main subdivisions:
- News.
- Validation (similar to calendar and forum), character, timeout (global).
- Dynamical links for getting in contact with the author (Email, PM) similar to forum.
6. Chat.
Extra-featured.
7. Gallery.
- Site Gallery with counters review, comments, etc (numerous features).
- Automated gif -> gd conversion.
8. Links System.
- Links catalog.
- Cron, checking links for validation.
9. Membership Questionnaire.
Enable leaders to communicate indirectly with members who wish to join the various in-game divisions.
Questionnaire Table:
id; game id; server id; intro msg; updated; updated by; status.
Questions Table:
id; questionnaire id; question; required; question id; char id; answer; updated.
10. Take data and Display spec information pertinent to that particular character.
Epics table = general description, class, perhaps an image of the quest item.
Epic_steps table = each step to complete with a walk-thru and optional image (by require from user).
Epic_chars table = epic steps (without walk-thru details and display by require from user) with check
which have completed. For each - ask help via forum or schedule an event via the calendar.
Preformat the help or event.
Automatically nominated for a special award in the awards system (by complete).
Admin.
Update and Add epics.
Modify checklist items and details.
Dynamic colors, session stuff, and same general look/feel for the rest of the site.
